"Bringing our child to the Joop Gilliamse crèche has been a truly wonderful experience. This fully cooperative project provides care for children with so much love, attention, and fun. It’s fantastic for the children to grow in such a nurturing community—a small, familiar group that feels like home. At the same time, it is incredibly enriching for parents to be actively involved during this special period of their child’s development. Parents benefit from coaching, training, and an inspiring environment to grow and learn alongside their children. All of this takes place in a beautiful location in the heart of the city, with many exciting opportunities for outdoor activities nearby, such as a large private garden, the OBA library, Artis Zoo, Wittenburg speeltuin, Nemo, and more. Adding to that the delicious homemade meals and the fact that it’s the most affordable childcare option in Amsterdam, it makes it something truly unique. We are so glad we have been part of this remarkable project has been passed down for over 40 years among so many families. A live-changing experience for us, we couldn't recommend it more :)"

"The best daycare in Amsterdam!! We joined when our daughter was 1,5 years old, after trying a normal daycare. We decided to switch, because we felt we didnt fit in at the previous place. We had no relation to parents or other kids, and also after trying for 6 months, our daughter was still struggling with saying goodybe in the mornings, and sleep routine did not work. At the Joop Gilliamse Creche it felt much more natural, and very soon the carers became friends, and it just feels like a big family! The community is very diverse, open, mix of international and dutch families, also lots of artists and musicians. The entire creche is completely adapted to the needs of children, with Montessori and Gordon method in mind, low chairs and tables, floor bed in the bedroom, beautiful wooden structure with a slide in the living room for motoric development etc. Garden is gorgeous, with sand-pit, little playground, bikes.. The best part is that the parents themselves take all decisions, on what to change, improve, what food our children eat, what activities we organize, there is a monthly contribution that we use how we decide. There is also a pedagogical coach that observes and helps us, and workshops that we attend together. Our daughter goes every morning with a smile and excitement to the creche, happy to play with her friends there! Sometimes she wants to go even on the weekends ;) It has been an amazing growing journey, and I feel so grateful that we found this place for our daughter (and us). Definitely the best choice we could have made, as it feels we are truly part of her social development and everyday time at the care. I also really enjoy spending time and taking care of other children, groups are small, max 8 children with two parents, such a joyful experience for myself! All the parents are very loving and caring, and it just feels safe to leave our child there. A very loving space, I would truly recommend it to everyone!!"
